Meet the instructor
Emily Tessmer, a veteran singer-songwriter & music teacher from the Tahoe area, recently relocated to Amador county, where she, her husband and their son are enjoying the fresh air, tall trees, and the fresh musical opportunities associated with the wine country. Her various instruments range from piano and guitar, to ukulele and of course her voice, which is a blend of Joni Mitchell, Sarah Mclaughlan, and Eva Cassidy. In addition, Tessmer is an ORFF certified instructor and loves teaching children with this modality because of its ability to engage students and dazzle audiences. Her musical arsenal includes a wide range of covers spanning decades, and also includes a host of originals that touch on themes of love loss, belonging, and earth justice. Tessmer is also the creatix of the new age/world music sensation Orenda Blu, which has three full length albums available on spotify, and has garnered attention from programs such as NPR’s echoes, and has also received awards for its lush harmonies, world chanting and blissful soundscapes.
Amador School of Music’s mission is to inspire and empower children and adults through music education, and our belief that everyone has talent!
